WebQuest Portfolio

Task Assignments

Portfolio Tasks

Create a WebQuest from scratch by following these steps:

  • Select a project topic. Use the benchmarks and standards discussed in your block classes to help you locate an appropriate topic. Do a quick search to see if there are resources on the Web to support that topic.
  • Generate ideas as to what your topic will be using The WebQuest Taskonomy.
  • Decide on a task that you would give students that would focus their learning to meet the standard you've chosen. Use the Taskonomy Page for guidance to help you craft a task that goes beyond merely answering questions or retelling what was read.
  • Download a template and write up your Task in the appropriate spot. Give the WebQuest a name and add that name to the title and the page properties. Save your WebQuest as WebQuest.html.
  • Continue completing the template in this order: Evaluation, Process, Introduction, Conclusion. Follow the prompts and your instructor's advice to finish out the page. Be sure to:
    • Construct the Task and begin your Introduction
    • Save your work every few minutes!
  • Your WebQuest must have the following for credit:
    • Page titled using "Format>Page Properties" menu command.
    • Background color and text colors appropriately chosen.
    • 1 graphic to replace the "place graphic here" statement, but you may want to include a few other graphics to keep the WebQuest eye-catching!
    • Each section of the WebQuest completed with no typos, spelling or grammar errors.
    • Although the number of resources you include with your WebQuest will be determined by your task, please check with me if you are using less than 3 resource websites incorporated in the WebQuest.
    • Graphics and WebQuest.html saved in your web folder.
  • Link your WebQuest to your index page of your webpage and upload index.html plus WebQuest.html and any graphic pictures to your server account.
  • You may (and I encourage you to) work on a team to complete this project.
  • Your instructor will use the WebQuest evaluation rubric to assess your work. Be sure to study this rubric to see how your quest will be evaluated.
