Turning in your files electronically
to the dropbox:
- First, create a folder to hold your journal file.
Use the File>New Folder command from the menu bar to create a new folder.
Label the folder [yoursectionnumber][your
lastname]pp . Example: 2mcgrathpp
- Save your files into the folder.
- Next, be sure there are no servers on your desktop.
If there are, drag them to the trash.
- Then, from the Apple menu, select the chooser>
Appleshare> IRED400 server> OK.
- In the dialog box that appears, select the "Registered
User" button and type in name: figg and Password: granite.
- Highlight, but do not double-click, the file
"figg". Click OK.
- A server icon appears on the desktop. Open the
server by double-clicking.
- The Dropbox with "write-only" priviledges
will open up.
- Open your floppy or zip by double-clicking on
the icon.
- Drag your journal folder into the server window
until the dropbox icon is selected (it will appear dark with a black box around
the text) Release your mouse and you will get an error message stating that
you do not have privileges to read the information in this folder. It asks
if you want to put it there anyway? You click Yes or OK.
- A copy box appears showing the copying of your
folder into the dropbox. You have successfully turned in your journal.
