IRED 320 Technology in the Classroom

 

Welcome to IRED 320 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette! Click on the links above to access the online course components.

In this course, you will be provided with opportunities and experiences that lead to:

  • the acquisition of basic computer literacy concepts and skills,

  • the knowledge of teaching methods and instructional strategies appropriate for integrating computer tools into instruction, and

  • the ability to design and present lessons based on instructional design principles as well as the national standards set out by ISTE (International Society of Technology in Education).

We are excited about having you in this class, and when you have completed this course, you will be familiar with:

Application software such as Microwoft Word, AppleWorks Database, AppleWorks Spreadsheet, Appleworks Draw/Paint, Netscape Navigator, Netscape Composer, Inspiration, PowerPoint

Graphic competencies with capturing digital pictures with a digital camera or scanner. editing using basic edit tools, and converting file size and format

Basic use of Macintosh and PC platforms

Basic computer terminology necessary for working in the “computer world”
